Micaela is our Interior Designer at BRD Group, bringing five years of industry experience and a Bachelor of Design (Interior Environments) from Griffith University. Having worked with residential builders across Brisbane and North Queensland, she has developed a particular passion for residential design and enjoys seeing ideas progress from concept through to a finished space. Naturally persistent and always eager to learn, Micaela is motivated by continually expanding her knowledge and challenging herself with what she can accomplish.

Since joining BRD Group, Micaela has embraced the collaborative and supportive culture of the team. She enjoys working alongside colleagues across different projects and disciplines and values the opportunities this provides for professional growth. While residential projects will always be a favourite, she is particularly excited to be working on the Wests Leagues Club upgrade in Mackay. Having previously lived in North Queensland, the project has a personal connection, and its fast-paced timeline offers an exciting opportunity to see the design come to life.

Originally from Jimboomba, Queensland, Micaela made the move to the Sunshine Coast after spending time in Airlie Beach. Being close to the water was an important part of the move, with the coast providing the relaxed atmosphere she loved in North Queensland while bringing her closer to home. Outside of work, Micaela enjoys reading, camping, exploring Sunday markets and taking her one-year-old Border Collie for walks, although his enthusiasm for early mornings means coffee is an essential part of her daily routine.

Family is important to Micaela, and some of her favourite memories are of annual holidays to K’gari with her parents and younger brother. Travel remains high on her list, with Europe, Scotland, Ireland and the Greek Islands among the destinations she would love to explore. A visit to Drummond Castle in Scotland is firmly on the bucket list. Whether travelling, designing or developing her career, Micaela brings the same curiosity and determination, and looks forward to continuing to learn and grow alongside the BRD Group team.
