Kon Tiki Business Centre

Location: Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast, QLD
Year: 2017

Kon-Tiki Business Centre is the Sunshine Coast’s largest mixed-use office/retail development, consisting of two towers of approximately 18,000sqm of office, medical and retail use. Whilst each tower is positioned on separate allotments, the development incorporates a double level basement, spanning both sites and houses in excess of 400 cars. Street level activation is provided with retail uses in both towers. Tower 1 consists of consumer retail and medical tenancies, whilst tower 2 consists of hospitality and supporting tenancies. The food and beverage tenancies open out to a public piazza providing casual dining for 100+ people. This development incorporates strong building elements to overall enhance the Kon-Tiki name, and provides an inviting presence to occupants.

Vitality Village

Location: Birtinya, Sunshine Coast, QLD
Year: 2021

Vitality Village is Australia’s first integrated health hub located in Birtinya on the Sunshine Coast. This vibrant community space brings together innovators in the not-for-profit, private business and public sectors, to collaborate their skills and knowledge to overall solve global problems locally.

Esk Retail Development

Location: Esk, QLD
Year: 2023

This Retail development revitalised the main street of Esk in Regional Queensland, providing a much needed larger Supermarket to service the town plus additional specialty tenancy. 

The development consists of a 1200sqm Supermarket Tenancy + 575sqm of specialty tenancy’s that are a mix of medical, discounter, pathology and cafe tenany’s. The site is a contemporary designed retail development that included a vibrant colour scheme but was still incredibly low maintenance to look after. Since its completion the retail development is performing well above the clients expectations and has provided the Esk Township with a modern Supermarket that will service the town for many years to come.

Wises Road Commercial

Location: Sunshine Coast, QLD
Year: 2017

Wises Road Commercial is a signature office development in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast. The building has a combined floor area of more than 5500sqm across two levels.

There is exclusive office space and a three storey car park located at the rear of the structure.

The building has a bright and colourful exterior feature screening, overall offering an appealing street presence. The design allows for interactive connections with the large floor plates providing flexible work spaces whilst also encouraging innovative tenancy fit-out designs.

La Balsa Business Centre

Location: Mooloolaba, QLD
Year: 2011

A signature Sunshine Coast development, the ‘La Balsa Business Centre’ comprises of six residential units facing Burnett Street, and a six storey tower facing Brisbane Road. 

The Brisbane Road tower consists of both retail
and professional tenancies.

To maximise the office outlook, the tower was designed with a centre core and glazing to all
external walls to aid in the  energy efficiency of the building.

Facades include a variety of horizontal and vertical sun shading devices with the tower also including varying height glass/steel awnings above the retail tenancies, adding street appeal.

Loganholme Homemaker

Location: Loganholme, QLD
Year: 2022

The Loganholme Homemaker Centre is a major shopping district for Logan. The alterations have lifted the overall feel and created a modern, fresh space for customers to enjoy.

New feature high level panel screens create uniformity within the site, with new compliant access throughout, allowing access for all to
experience the centre.

Tyson Commercial Aura

Location: Caloundra West, QLD
Year: 2020

This 1500sqm site is located in the Aura Business Park on the Sunshine Coast and features an ‘L’ shape building that allows for street presence and access to car parking and individual tenancies.

The final design is a result of balancing floor area with car parking requirements, setbacks, service inclusions and landscape quota.

The final LFA is maximised for the ground level and also includes some mezzanine areas to balance out with the cars.

Simple, low cost/maintenance materials were used with the incorporation of some detail and colour to provide a striking street appeal.

Park Avenue Central

Location: Rockhampton, QLD
Year: 2017

Park Avenue Central is located adjacent to a hotel in Rockhampton, Queensland. Park Avenue Central is situated in a fast-growing region of the town.

The building consists of an 800sqm supermarket, 350sqm of specialty tenancies, and a 75 place child care centre.

The completed design is a contemporary shopping village that includes a vibrant colour
scheme that is very low in maintenance.

The IGA supermarket and child care centre provide a good mix of uses on the site, with both
complementing each other well.

Lexus Maroochydore

Location: Maroochydore, QLD
Year: 2010

Lexus Maroochydore was the first Lexus showroom design for BRD Group with the outcome producing a high quality, signature building. 

This showroom has received positive comments from the Local Authority, Lexus Australia and Lexus International, and has now set the benchmark for future Lexus showrooms in Australia.

The resultant building uses a combination of materials, colours, and mass to produce an articulated, eye catching and stylish building.

Lexus Southport

Location: Southport, QLD
Year: 2013

Th Southport Lexus showroom is the second Lexus showroom for BRD Group which required the redevelopment of an existing building on a restricted corner site.

Significant changes to the  existing structure were needed to upgrade from the current three car showroom and four bay workshop.

The redevelopment involved a neighbouring block of land to allow for expansion.

Lexus Springwood

Location: Springwood, QLD
Year: 2014

The Lexus showroom at Springwood occupies a
prime site alongside the busy Pacific Highway and commands attention with a sweeping cantilevered roof form.

The design provides a balanced scale to the large site, spanning over two levels. The primary structure of the building is steel frame with coated concrete tilt-up panels.

A predominant use of white gloss finishes enabled maximum daylight levels, reduced heat absorption and reduced the need for artificial lighting.

North Buderim Marketplace

Location: Buderim, QLD
Year: 2014

The completed renovations and additions to the North Buderim Marketplace have provided a much needed lift to an old and tired neighbourhood shopping destination.

The new centre incorporates a large scale neighbourhood supermarket, revised speciality shops, and improved car parking.

A significant increase in leasable floor area, revised site entry, and a major increase in car parking was achieved. Service vehicle movements were improved and a dedicated loading zone was incorporated at the supermarket.

The centre has become a high-use, popular neighbourhood destination, allowing for a
quicker shopping option than the larger CBD centres.

InFocus Maroochydore

Location: Maroochydore, QLD
Year: 2012

Whilst retaining as much of the existing structure as possible, the extensions to the ‘InFocus’
building saw a 50% increase in the site area, and a 100% increase in the gross floor area.

An increase in car parking was achieved through excavation under the existing building and into the adjoining site. The building height was also increased to three storeys above the basement.

Internally, the main foyer allows flexibility of tenant spaces and features striking elements.

A new mezzanine level and staircase design with dual purpose meeting rooms, kitchenette and boardroom were also included within the interior design element of the project.

Drayton Shopping Centre

Location: Drayton, QLD
Year: 2014

Delivered by BRD Group in 2014, Drayton Shopping Centre has proven to be a successful commercial and retail hub for the growing local community.

The site for the centre had an  existing tavern, which was required to be retained and considered into the site planning.

The client brief was to develop a shopping centre with a supermarket and subsidiary retail/ hospitality tenancies, with future potential for
further development.

Ormeau Commercial

Location: Ormeau, QLD
Year: 2015

The brief for this mixed use site was to include a 7 Eleven service station, KFC fast food outlet, Zarraffa’s drive-through, and two medical tenancies.

A comprehensive design process was required to incorporate all of the various tenant structures and guidelines into the development.

The completed project efficiently utilises the site that initially had some challenging topography, overall creating a mixed use development that flows extremely well and has tenancies that feed off one another.

K1 Birtinya

Location: Birtinya, QLD
Year: 2008

K1 is a contemporary, signature office building located in the bustling suburb of Birtinya, and it cleverly reflects on the Sunshine Coast vernacular style.

The foyer showcases an array of design elements including a lift with feature cladding, custom designed staircase and a steel sculpture with elements found elsewhere in the building.

Sippy Downs Commercial

Location: Sippy Downs, QLD
Year: 2005

This expansive commercial development situated at Sippy Downs was designed within a residential hub in a thriving community locale on the Sunshine Coast.

The design incorporated  numerous commercial tenancies including First Choice Liquor, Sam’s Warehouse, Subway, ANZ Bank, Joyce Mayne, and Commonwealth Bank just to name a few.

Brendale Depot

Location: Brendale, QLD
Year: 2010

This large development consists of administration,
loading and workshop areas as well as and outdoor storage section holding over 1,000 vehicles.

The design produced a large rectangular building that runs from east to west with this layout providing optimal access to all parts of the building as well as creating a relationship between each of the internal areas and allowed for maximum yard storage.

Various materials, articulation, building mass and subtle use of colour has provided a visually striking and modern industrial building.
