Our Story

BRD Group’s story is one of organic growth, driven by expertise, specialisation, and a commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative culture. From its Directors to every team member, the brand’s success is built on attracting exceptional talent and supporting ongoing professional development – key factors in the holistic success of the business.

In 2000, after more than 15 years of experience in a multi-office architectural practice, Brad Read launched his boutique design business, Brad Read Design Pty Ltd. His vision was to create a brand that delivered innovative and thought-provoking designs while nurturing an environment that advanced the skills of talented professionals. The team shared a collective passion for solving complex design challenges, producing creative, cutting-edge solutions that would captivate and inspire.

Brad and his team quickly established a reputation within a niche market, delivering exceptional service and solutions across both public and private sectors. With increasing demand, Brad partnered with Brenden Creed in 2008 to form BRD Group. Brenden brought extensive national and international experience in building design, strengthening the brand’s corporate capabilities and energising the team. Together, Brad and Brenden shared a vision of cultivating a strong corporate culture centred on collaboration, mentorship, and delivering projects that inspire.

In 2020, BRD Group expanded further with the merger of Chilli Freaks, a leading residential building design company owned by Cameron Lincoln. Cameron joined as the third Director, contributing his hands-on building expertise and extensive experience in residential construction and renovation design. His leadership reinforces the company’s commitment to mentoring and developing talent, while maintaining a strong focus on the residential and renovation markets.

Celebrating 25 years of growth and achievement, BRD Group continues to lead through innovation and insight.
