We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

BRD Group

Updated: Dec 22, 2024

The year is coming to an end, and we are preparing ourselves for the holiday season where we will take some time off to recharge the batteries, refresh the creative juices and spend some much-deserved time with our family and friends. As each year draws to a close it is difficult not to take time and reflect on what we have accomplished, the challenges we overcame and the relationships we developed throughout the year. For the entire team at BRD Group it was a big year and a successful year. We have so many things to be grateful for and to be proud of ourselves about.

One of the biggest developments for our team in 2024 was the appointment of new shareholders and associates, Andrew Mullamphy and Jamin Samios. The duo has many years of service at BRD Group and have excelled in their work and commitment to the company for many years. This accolade gives both gents the opportunity to take on more senior leadership roles within the group while enhancing the functionality and efficiency of the leadership team. Andrew and Jamin have hit the ground running since the announcement and are thriving within the roles, supporting their colleagues, educating those around them and improving the capabilities within each office. We are pleased to have this strategic planning and development in place as it provides more strength, versatility and resources both internally and to those who work with us.

Our leadership group are on a journey of continuous improvement and development and our involvement in industry is an essential component of this process. This year, we were excited to announce that BRD Group Director, Brenden Creed was appointed as a member of the QBCC Industry Advisory Committee. This collective of industry professionals are in place to provide observations, strategic advice and guidance to the QBCC Board in relations to all matters that impact and affect the building and construction industry. Beyond this new appointment, Brenden continues in his role as the Chairperson of the Advocacy Committee for the BDAA, playing an integral role for the Building Design industry as a whole. Brenden is also an active member of the Board of Directors for the BDAA, showcasing a dedication and commitment to the industry and the profession, sharing knowledge, experience and understanding with others across the country. Brendan was also joined by fellow Director, Cameron Lincoln as the duo ventured to the BDAA Conference in Tasmania earlier in the year. This activity strengthened industry ties and gave Brad and Cameron the opportunity to visit some project sites in the region while they were in town.

This year was one of our best when it comes to award-winning projects, as our team collected awards and accolades at both the local and national BDAA Awards. As a team, we cherish the opportunity to have projects we can submit for the awards, but to take out the top spots is such an enormous triumph for the group. Each team member experiences a sense of ownership and participation in the projects, so for those projects to go on to be acknowledged by the industry as elite examples of building design, it really is humbling yet exciting. It is this shared ownership and collaboration that sets BRD Group apart and could be part of the reason that our trophy cabinet continues to expand and is bursting at the seams.

A critical component of our success remains our relationships with longstanding clients. Much of our work, is from long-term clients as they chose BRD Group as their partners time and time again, due to our unrivalled capability and professionalism. We take pride in our relationships and strive to strengthen and maintain exceptional client service standards for everyone that encounters working with BRD Group. We also have met new clients in 2024, which has been exciting for all members of the team as each new client brings new ideas, concepts, projects and opportunities. We look forward to next year, allowing us to continue to work with our loyal clientele and meet with new people and sink our teeth into new projects.

Projects that brightened up our year included multi-residential, residential, commercial or industrial projects. Construction was completed on the following multi-residential projects, each of which presented challenges but allowed us to really showcase our skills while several have already attracted industry awards and accolades;

  • Shoreline Skyhomes, Maroochydore

  • Bayrise Apartments, Wynnum

  • Cabana Units, Cotton Tree

  • East 153° Apartments, Moffat Beach

  • Riverhouse Units, Maroochydore

Our completed residential projects include but were not limited to;

  • Cogill Road Renovation, Buderim

  • Devcon, Noremac and SDA developments

  • While our commercial and industrial completions include;

  • AHC Goodlife Clubhouse and Villas, Hervey Bay

  • Dockside Village, Pelican Waters

  • Riverview Tavern, Townsville

  • Dicky Beach Surf Life Saving Club alterations, Dicky Beach

  • Trade Training Centre CQUniversity, Mackay

While we wrapped up these projects in 2024, we are looking forward to the conclusion of key projects that started on site this year.  Construction commenced on the Plantation Retirement Resort in Parker Street, Maroochydore which will undoubtedly turn heads as the project continues. Stage 1 of the Mackay Northern Beaches Bowls Club project also kicked off and will continue into 2025.

Alongside our busy project schedule and our involvement with industry committees, we also enjoyed supporting our community and our team members in 2024. To give back to our local community, we as a group support work experience placements throughout the year. This gives student building design enthusiasts the opportunity to experience firsthand what it is like to be a building designer. Our teams open up their time to these students that have a passion for design and help to develop their knowledge and give them an insight into their career potential should they continue with their interests. BRD Group have also been privileged to provide continued support to Coolum Surf Life Saving Club, Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club and the Mount Cotton Scouts, amongst other community groups. We were also grateful to sponsor and have team members attend and support the Mal Pratt Youth Development Foundation Golf Day at the Beerwah Golf Club, helping raise money for the charity. We also held quite a few training and development days for our team, so that the entire group can enjoy continual learning and a sense of community within the business. We look forward to an ongoing commitment to our community and staff in 2025.

As we wrap up the year, we would like to thank everyone who has supported BRD Group throughout the year and want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Our office will be closed from December 19th through to January 6th, 2025. We look ahead to the new year with excitement and welcome another year of BRD Group doing what we do best, and sharing our knowledge, expertise and experience with our clients, our industry and our community.
