For over a decade now, BRD Group have been supporting and sponsoring the Coolum Beach SLSC Charity Golf Day which raises money for the Coolum Beach Surf Lifesaving services. As avid community supporters, BRD Group pride themselves on collaborating with the event team to ensure that it is an ongoing success.
This year the event will be held on the 14th of March with tee off from 10am at the Palmer Coolum Resort. The day is sure to be a hit with golfers of all skills levels, with registrations offering a team of 4 to sign up and put their driving, wedging and putting to the test against other golfers who are keen to get amongst it. This year, the event has already sold out – with tickets snapped up months in advance. The popular event has been a sellout for the last several years running, where BRD Group have repeatedly committed to being key event sponsors.
The BRD Group will have teams in attendance, but do not hold high hopes for taking out the title, as the group boast more skills around the sketch pad than a five iron, but happy to have a crack and enjoy the spirit of the day.
The Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club is a historic club steeped in tradition, having been established back in 1919. One of the longest running surf clubs on the Sunshine, the Coolum Beach SLSC now have over 240 patrolling members, more than 200 Nippers and a successful surf sports team of around 100. The club is responsible for funding all the equipment needed on the beach including vehicles, boards, IRB’s, first aid kits, defibrillators along with the actual day to day running of the club including administration, training and patrolling. Without the support of the local community, the Surf Club couldn’t provide the lifesaving services they do, and our beaches would be unsafe to swim.
We respect and value the contribution that the Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club makes to our community which is why we are proud to support the Golf Day each year and are excited to again have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the spirit of the event. The much-needed funds will be going to a great cause, we will have a blast getting around the course and no doubt will be signing up again in 2026 as sponsors and players, hoping to continue growing the event to be bigger and better year after year!
