The Queensland Building Construction Commission (QBCC) is the regulator for the building and construction industry, established under the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991.
QBCC supports the growing Queensland community through our contribution to a thriving and resilient building and construction industry that supports sustainable social, environmental and economic outcomes for the state.
QBCC’s regulatory purpose is to reduce risk in the building and construction industry, offer protection from harm, and encourage innovative industry responses to current and emerging challenges.
As part of the QBCC's function, they have developed an Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) in April of 2023, with the view to provide observations, strategic advice and guidance to the Board in relation to matters affecting the building and construction industry.
BRD Group is pleased to announce that our Director, Brenden Creed, has been appointed to the QBCC Industry Advisory Committee (IAC), where he will represent the Building Design profession. In this role, Brenden will offer guidance and insights on matters affecting both Building Designers and the broader building and construction industry.
His extensive experience in Building Design Advocacy, particularly through his involvement with Building Designers Association of Australia (BDAA) & Building Design Queensland (BDQ), is expected to greatly contribute to the IAC's work.
The BRD Group team congratulate Brenden on this appointment and will provide ongoing support to him in this capacity to maximise his contribution and the overall benefits to the industry.
