BRD Group Directors leading the way to educate, integrate and congratulate

Last month BRD Group team came together for a day filled with learning, networking, and celebrations. The event was a multi-faceted experience that included a series of workshops, a tour of a landmark building, and the recognition of outstanding achievements at the BDAA Chapter Awards.

The day kicked off with a workshop hosted by BRD Group’s Directors — Brad Read, Brenden Creed & Cameron Lincoln — held at their Sunshine Coast office. The workshop, part of the Group's ongoing commitment to professional development, served as both an educational opportunity and a team-building activity. The Kon Tiki building, designed by BRD Group and recognised with several industry awards, was a fitting backdrop for this collaborative and growth-focused event. BRD Group places great value on upskilling staff and fostering a collaborative culture. This dedication to learning and internal development is a key reason for the company’s low turnover and high employee loyalty.

The second activity of the day took the team to the Sunshine Coast City Hall for a guided tour. This striking building, designed by Cottee Parker Architects, was inspired by the iconic Glasshouse Mountains and is a symbol of sustainability and innovation. The Sunshine Coast Council Principal Architect Tony Holzberger provided insightful commentary on the design process and the building's environmental initiatives, which align with the region's climate and natural environment. The City Hall tour highlighted the cutting-edge design strategies that are helping to reduce environmental impact while contributing to the Sunshine Coast’s growing city centre.

The final event of the day was the much-anticipated Building Designers Association of Australia Chapter Design Awards, where BRD Group was once again recognised for their excellence in design. The team gathered at Altitude 9, a stunning venue with panoramic views of the Sunshine Coast, to celebrate their successes. BRD Group received several prestigious awards, including:

  • Winner – Commercial Building – Rainbow Beach Surf Life Saving Club

  • Winner – Concept Design Commercial – Good Life Clubhouse

  • Winner – Liveable Housing – Bowen SDA

  • Winner New Residential up to $600K – Good Life Retirement Villa

  • Winner – Unbuilt Commercial – Aero 36

  • Winner – Multi-Residential Up to 3 Storeys – Shoreline Skyhomes

  • Commendation for a Multi-Residential Building over 3 Storeys – Cabana

These accolades are a testament to the hard work, creativity, and collaboration between the BRD Group team. As 2024 draws to a close, the team is excited for the future, eager to continue their journey of growth and innovation. The company’s success can be attributed to its strong internal culture, the respect team members have for one another, and their shared commitment to creating breath-taking, award-winning designs across various sectors.

With a promising year ahead, BRD Group remains focused on continuing to learn, collaborate, and deliver exceptional results for clients, while fostering an environment of growth and mutual support. The secret to their success lies in their dedication to excellence, teamwork, and a shared vision for the future.
