Succulents In Your Garden

January 2, 2017

Succulents are not only beautiful but because they contain a high moisture content and can live in harsh conditions they can be an ideal choice for your garden, particularly here in Australia!

They're also great for small places and can grow in containers with hundreds of varieties on offer, including ones that flower.

If you're keen to add them within your garden here are the top 4 to plant.

The Kalanchoe tomentosa known as the panda plant is a sun-loving and easy to care for succulent which features red-trimmed tips and has soft felt-like silver green leaves.

The Crassula ovata undulata have wavy aqua coloured leaves. They're easy to maintain and drought tolerant and also thrive in containers and indoors.

For low maintenance the Sedum sediforme is ideal with its tunnel-like mounds with small flowers that sprout in Summer.   Also great for pots and gravel.

Probably one of the best known is the Agave murpheyi with its dramatic and spiky dark green-silvery leaves. This bold and sculptural plant loves full sun.
