The La Balsa Business Centre at Mooloolaba was awarded the 'Peter Modini Award for Commercial Buildings' and a recently completed residence at Eumundi took out the 'New Homes over 450 square metres' category.
As with most commercial projects, the client's brief was to maximise the development of the site in providing a professional office building, with some retail space. To maximise the office outlook, the tower was designed with a centre core and glazing to all external walls, to aid in the energy efficiency of the building. It became a signature building with maximum visual interest, meeting the client's needs.
This three storey vernacular Sunshine Coast home maximises the view from it's stunning hilltip location. The client's European design influences have been incorporated into the motor court, entry, and pool courtyard areas.
The completed house morphs out of the hilltop, with minimal impact to the sloped landscape, while leaving most of the flat pad area for the feature motor-court and entry area producing a stunning European influenced space, which added to the eclectic mix of design components within the overall house.
